Ho Ho Ho!!!

Greeting and Salutations Blog readers, Merriest of Christmases for all and pass me another egg nog!!!

Wow, that was "Craziness."
I am still high from all the sugar!!!

... And now people, it's time to put those decadent cookies away... close up the bakery kids its time to get back in the veggie garden!!

Reflect and build a plan... What would you like the next year here to be like for you...
What changes would you implement... What success have you celebrated over the past year.... Bask in them... It's all good !!!

Question...what successes would you wish to celebrate next year at this time...
As vividly as you can picture them, every detail... what would they be?

I used to balk at the concept of "New Years", the social pressure, the pressure of "resolutions" some kept, some not and the feelings of failure if that be the case, not this year...

In the past year of my life I have really embraced the "goal structure" process. Striving to extend yourself and obtain personal goals one wants to achieve. It is as good a time as any on the first of the new year...
The "secret" is to be really and truly passionate about your goals for YOU because you believe in them and wish to chase, seize or change something.

Strangely enough as my buddy Dave sees this thought process as helpful as I do I am intrigued by his goals... They are aggressive, and more importantly they are meaningful to Dave. I will ensure for my part he gets what he needs from his trainer to make certain he is as prepared to take on all of these challenges in due time.

What's your list of goals this year?
I'd love to hear from you guys the blog readers whats you guys are up to. Anyone open to sharing?
Here's the cool part...say it out loud to others and you have a far better chance of making it so... wouldn't you agree Dave?

Let's hear some goals guys...

It's off in woods we go !!!

I am soooo excited. Tomorrow is a monumental day! For those of you that have been tracking our blogs the new year brings big Dave and I new and exciting challenges least of which is not the 100km walk we have scheduled for June of 2010. Tomorrow is our first group excursion to investigate the trail system we will be using to provide various options for our fellow fundraisers.

We will be joined by both Doris Biron and John Russell both of whom are crucial to putting this project together along with others on the committee. Miss Mia Franklin will be our guide and assist us in the mapping process. It's going to be cold, it's going to be early, and I can't wait to get out there.

I might not make any friends as I am the annoying morning person everyone loathes...

These routes we discover tomorrow will become the basis of Dave's and my trail training and we will get to know them very well. We are excited to invite anyone along who might be interested once we get up and running (or walking briskly). We will keep you posted when we are prepared for company...

Things are certainly getting exciting around here. Nevertheless as the year of 2009 closes out and we prepare to welcome 2010. There have been a few new faces popping by to get a look at the place as a potential fitness facility to strive for some life changes that may be due. We welcome anyone who wishes to enjoy our hospitality and expertise. We certainly have created quite a supportive family here. It Awesome !!!!

For those of you that don't know if you go on the website for http://www.bodilogix.com/
you can print out an amazing deal sure to get you started without soaking you dry!

Well it's off to bed for an rest before we head out,

It's "Hold your breath" Thursday...

Well here we are again already and it's Thursday. Due to last weeks loss of only .5 pounds I have once again been a bit concerned for today's weigh-in with perhaps a crossed set of fingers in hopes that everything goes well over at the Cromlish homestead this fine morn.

Its rare but when I came in to work this morning the evidence that Cromlish had been in and gone was shall we say scarce, (his locker was untouched...I snoop....) This my friends is a rarity... Dave is pretty much the resident Troll that lives under the couch at this point. To not see Dave, hear Dave , or be picking up that mans dirty laundry is not only odd, it feels wrong.

I got to thinking what Bodilogix would be like if I never met Dave... Quieter yes I know, he really has come to embody the place. Its kinda like we built it for him. He may of picked a different color given the option. I don't think we will let Dave have too many days off. I guys what I am trying to say is that I really missed the big lug, He's alright with me.

I am certain in his next blog he will tell you all about his recent personal bests so I will not burst his balloon but let me just say, I can hardly believe Dave's turn about given at the 5 month mark not only do we only have 27 more pounds to shed, but his lifts at the gym excel in weight, reps and or form each and every workout...

Suggestion....

If anyone would like to get Dave a gift for Christmas, the man needs "Velcro" shoes... I am certain his boot camp performance will improve greatly when he no longer needs to stop and tie his laces "yet again"

Rosie... What size?

Seriously...
Pool the funds people and lets help this man to a better Boot camp...
I know he will "greatly appreciate it"

Big Dave and his Bevy of Beauties...

Needless to say as time has gone by you all by now have figured out our man Dave as the warm hearted guy with the jokes and oh that ever so clever wit... all true. But he really took one for the team last weekend. Big Dave was my right hand man a few evenings back at the Bodilogix 2ND annual Pajama Party and overall girl fest... He fit right in !!!!

Seriously, Big Dave had a bar full of gals in there nighties just hanging on his every word. His son Rick Cromlish was also on hand to teach the gals a little cards and why not, Rick even has a smoothie recipe named after him he was such a fixture here over the summer months. Its called the Banana Rick, I am serious!!! Come on in and order one I'll make you one, there different every time but that's why they are so darn special.

Anyway, it is always fun to include Dave in our excitement down here at the club, never a dull moment. And for all of those wondering, he wasn't tempted in the least by all the goodies that the ladies enjoyed on there big night out. What a trooper....

Well we will be at it again tomorrow for a leg workout and we have boot camp here at Bodilogix in an hour so off I go to prep the course...

Cheers

David gotta Big fat Goose egg and I couldn't be happier!!!

Say what ?!..?
Yup, boy oh boy am I "uber excited". I am so thrilled I keep jumping right out of my skin...
goose egg "boose egg"..., Its' a great day... Its the best day...
It's better than a birthday,
Its almost as good as Christmas... wait... It's better than Christmas !!!!

Allow me explain.
Being a trainer means accepting you have a double life...
You must present yourself one way to garner the relationship required to successfully achieve adherence to facility the goal structure you and another decide is your mandate.
That's abit of a mouthful...

Basically that means "never and I mean never try to be the "TRAINER" for your husband or wife. In matters of the waistline better to shut your trap and nod politely if asked any sort of question.

There is to the trainer the goals and desires that are important to the client, (usually something about the pants not quite fitting as comfortably as one hopes pants can) and than there are the goals that are important to the trainer as well as the client but somehow these are the goals few ask to achieve specifically. Things like increasing ones life expectancy, improving quality of life, better sleep for the client, better outlook on life, increased confidence in the individual.
Lust for life and adventure gathering steam... Becoming an active participant in all that life can offer the individual.
And of course "looking better naked"... Nuff said... Its all good people....

Today is that day... It's my day !!!!
goose egg "who cares..." , "whatever"...
Our Mr. Cromlish... aka... "Big Dave" as my son call him has achieved his greatest success thus far... Dave has been officially released from his high blood pressure medication.
Done...Gone... out of there !!!!!
Once a long road ahead of meds, re-filling prescriptions, timing pills and all that can represent to the human spirit... Done.

Let's get this in perspective.
It's been 4 months of exercise...
It's been 4 months of "clean eating" to "nourish" the body, not entertain the mind, or feed addictions...

65 pounds of fat gone...
Energy for days....
Meds gone....

Well done my friend,
Next stop, the sleep clinic...

Couldn't happen to a more deserving Dude..
I hope I can find a nice card in the store for this one...

How far we have come, and how far we are going...

Today was a very interesting day. Here at Bodilogix we has a preliminary meeting with regards to our next big challenge. The 100 kilometer "just for the health of it" Walk. I see we are going to have quite an event on our hands and I for one am in fact up for the Challenge. I along with a core group of the organizing team enjoyed a planning chat with our man Dave and was myself very impressed with how much of the "leg work" Dave has already been on to. He is seriously invested in completing this new challenge and I love seeing his enthusiasm for these new and exciting events in his life.

He even signed on for a bootcamp here at Bodilogix starting Tuesday November 10th. Yes we have glass windows but please no paparazzi... I am excited to introduce our man Dave to my Bootcamp Class ! I know he is going to love it and get great results and although it may further strain our relationship I am determined to get him down the 80 pounds for Christmas. i know that is the best Christmas presents Dave could give Dave and I will do all I can to facilitate that.

David has a date for tomorrow with yours truly and I am off to design tomorrows torture... I mean "training program."

I heard there was a Polar bear in Cobourg on Sunday...

Howdy Bloggers, Sorry for my absenteeism, I've been in negotiations for the "coming soon" made for T.V movie called, "Ol Lardy Buns" the sequel... again, I do apologize. Its a tragedy...

So I have heard "Our Man Dave" has been out logging some training for the up coming insanity known as the "butterball run. That is exciting! I am very excited Dave has embraced this idea and is keen to take on this additional challenge above and beyond that first milestone goal of the 100 pounds Dave is currently shedding.
At over half way to achieving that goal it is good to set ones eyes on new challenges and really put this new body we are building Dave to the test. As Dave's trainer this is what really excites me. I am myself quite anxious to test my own resolve by his side. I am looking very forward to getting some good hikes in as part of our training.

I put it out to the fans of the Blog to come out with us for a wander in the Hills and take in the amazing scenery and topography Northumberland County offers all of us. I promise I will bring a compass.... and snacks.

Big Dave's training is right on target and we are able more and more to try new things and "up the intensity". I am really enjoying my time with Big Dave as I can see as it is so very obvious that he firmly enjoys his time here at Bodilogix and has not only become Family but sits at the head of the table.
Our Dave embodies everything Bodilogix is. Supportive, sincere, and from the heart.

Tomorrows Legs Big Guy, Bring your game.

Turning the other cheek...

So it's been a few days since I've written and I apologize.... I can just imagine the buzz, "where oh where is Miss Trainer Andrea?" Fear not. I was in negotiations for the movie rights for the upcoming "David and Andrea's adventures in fitness" cable series...

I am kidding but if you caught the show on cogeco and you liked it.... call them or e-mail them and maybe they will invite us back for more "Coffee Talk" with David Glover. I enjoyed myself quite abit...

Speaking of which I am not sure if any of you have noticed any differences in our David "characterwise" but I must spill....
The other day after filming when we were set to leave cogeco I could'nt help but notice the "screamimg" fashion statement our man Dave was all about...

Police "colottes". Yup, I bet they are all the range in the big cities. Flattering really. Nice look for the men in blue.... Loose, not binding like other pants. Flowy, airy, whispy... They seem to say "hey, look at me", I am beautiful, a man of style and leisure". Nice, refreshing, like an ice cold glass of lemonade on a hot day.

I can see "the look" really catching on... Keep your eyes out people and hats off to our man Dave for taking the "plunge" and really spreading his wings in the fashion realm... good on ya fella...

Lights, Camera, Action....

Well that was one for the books... Dave Cromlish and I will be featured on a new and hot episode of your favourite local cable show... you know the one... Municipal matters. Great stuff guys. The spot should be airing tomorrow evening (Wednesday Sept 30) we think around 6:00pm but we will confirm tomorrow.

Apparently we are having a inpromptu "cogeco viewing sit in" on the famous red leather couch here at Bodilogix HQ. Dave was great... he really is quite a good public speaker. I was in awe at how well he handled the "tough" questions... especially about the one when he is asked about his thoughts on ladies corsets... just making sue you were paying attention, regardless I am sure you won't want to miss it.

I am hoping the weigh-in is good this week and we get to that goal of a 60 pound loss for thanksgiving however having read Dave's confessions of the weekend I know what I have to do tomorrow... Tomorrow is "legs" and I will smack the snot out of Dave and get that nuptial dinner scared off his you know what before it has time to land... the confession does explain a little more about the lack of whining on Dave's part when I put on the pressure....

Dave has been really giving it his all in the gym and we are able to try new things almost every workout... This truely is the fun part of my role in this project... Watching Dave amaze himself at his own new found abilities as we continue to open up the doors to other physical endeavors to be enjoyed. What will we do next, Zip lining, rock climbing, skydiving... who knows....

That's our man....

Well you can all just imagine the joy one feels when the student is "getting it.." I mean really "getting it..."
I'm going to stick my neck out on this one...
I believe...
David Cromlish will never be on another "diet" in his life...
I'd even venture to say David Cromlish will always maintain some level of physical activity in his life long after he says good by to this 100 pounds we are in the midst of shedding.

Although Dave may mix-up the "lingo" from time to time... (Bosu Ball) not (Buso Ball) David is truly learning the true meaning of "self respect". David is interested in understanding the amazing biological machine he is and we all are and giving it what it needs to run efficiently and at its very best.

As we clock our three workouts weekly I am feeling far more freedom as David's trainer to test his limits, both cardiovascular as well as in terms of overall strength. When I think of where we were 3 months ago to where we are now.. it really boggles the mind. It is a real testament to Dave and to the acceptance of the the theory that no matter where you are at, change is possible. I am reminded of our first walks together and how obviously uncomfortable the big guy was in his own body. I think Dave is learning every day about himself and what he is capable of... I also think the best of Dave is yet to come. I for one am happy to be along for the ride.

A beautiful day for a hike...

Well wasn't the weather just a gift yesterday... that was Sunday for those on the time delay reading this fine blog.

As part of our on going devotion to embracing a healthy active lifestyle I had suggested to big Dave that we once again "take it outside"!!! This time we would leave the streets of Cobourg behind and head out into the nature ... The nature of hiking... and why not, we need to get a little time out on the trails as part of the next crazy phase of Dave and Andrea's excellent adventure. You will hear all about our upcoming proposed expedition soon enough. (We will be walking til our feet fall off...)

My husband David and I decided on a 2km hike as a mild introduction to an activity my fella introduced me to quite sometime ago... we are talking hiking people.
Picture it... Northumberland Hills Forest...
The trail was to be the Orange trail... low and behold it was a wee bit overgrown with poison ivy and as much as I love a good hike, unless we hang glide no one was going to get out of this one unscathed... It was nothing but Poison Ivy!

Plan B

I thought perhaps the blue trail that I believe is frequented more often offered a wider path and less chance of dancing with the Ivy.
..Nope....

Plan C

Didn't really have one... not a worry however, we found a wide sandy logging road by the look of it and really... every road has to go somewhere... or does it? Hhhmmm.

Plan D
Keep walking... smile a lot and tell a good anecdote periodically so no one smells uncertainty or fear...

Plan E
Keep walking...just keep walking... Keep smiling, smiling smiling, just keep smiling....

Plan F
Ask the wanna-be motorcross champion dude with the nice threads for directions...he's fast, he's loud,he's well dressed...
... but then again so am I...

Nice fella, the Dave's give him the questions but this boy is definitely lost.. in more ways than one if you get what I am saying. We pressed on ...

So much for the 2k hike. I think our route was closer to 4.5km and I am happy to say we were all in good spirits and "our man Dave" was doing great and handling our debacle like a pro. We got one cool cucumber on our hands and that's a good thing/ Next years 100km "oops" make that 600 km hike should be a breeze...

Its all in the training people...

Ever closer to the Goal !!!!

Sneaky monkey that Cromlish.... He should know by now how I fret and shimmy with anticipation for the "word" on Thursday mornings.... You know the "W" word .... "weight-in"...
This morning was like every other Thursday morning... stressful!!!!! very stressful !!!!!!

Low and behold my boyfriend must have been super stealthy on the entrance today because I did not see let alone hear that fella wondering in... Gone is the old familiar A&W soundtrack as we discussed sometime ago...but now he is damn near "cat like".

The others attending the breakfast club workout time slot alerted me to our man Dave's attendance. "Hey", I was afraid to ask he looked so serious... My blood runs cold...Ohhhh he's GOOOODDD with that Stoicism... dead pan... can't read him...he gives nothing away...I feel for his kids!!!! I feel like it's been an hour already.... "WELL!!!!".....

and then there it is... A smile and a hand of five fingers held up high for the anticipating audience that surrounds probably feeling the same pins and needles as I did. Bodilogix breaks out in cheers !!!! Down another five !!!!
We replay the last weeks events, what we anticipated and for a brief minute and only a minute we are satisfied...
and just like that... we are looking forward to our next goal. "We will have the fifty off by our Television debut I say all business". Cromlish looks in the air reviewing the dates and days leading up... "should just get it, it's doable but pretty tight. Like the well oiled machine this team operates as we separate and go about our morning today tasks in the gym, Cromlish hits the treadmill and I get under a stack on the leg press... I am working on my own buns of steel forever the student.

44 pounds down my friend... am I proud of our Dave... Your dam right !!!! My wheels turn as I review the week in my own head. I won't change a thing this week. stay the course, keep the program as is, its bearing fruit. I realize my thoughts are already winding up and I am already getting nervous anticipating next Thursday.

" Mr. Demill, I'm ready for my close-up..."

Sorry I have been hot in negotiations with my publicist, manager and agent regarding our upcoming appearance on that ever so HOt Hot Hot show, maybe you have seen it... Municipal matters... Well it does, especially when Dave and Andrea's most excellent adventure takes to the airwaves...

Really things have been a little less hairy around here especially since Dave Cromlish has shaved off his lip sweater... Nice. That's street lingo for Mustache for those of you not in the know...He really is quite a handsome fella and I think we may be down a pound due to the follicular shorn... Ohhh sound dirty!!!!

Just the other day as I bid our man Dave "au revoir", I could not help but notice his pants seemed a little confused. I must confess I should really have brought the matter to Dave's attention sooner. Fact of the matter is is looked pretty much like the man was wearing Collates, you know, like a long maxi skort... interesting look... Visualize along with me ...
Could raise a few questions down at the police station. I sure was intrigued, that's a lot of responsibility to put on a belt.
I have since heard there has been some shopping over at the Cromlish household. That is exciting. The man needs pants dammit !!! Pants !!!!

I am excited to see Dave's shape changing right before my very eyes even if his weight loss on the scale is leveling off. We are getting into the real work now. We are promoting Lean muscle gains at the same time we are shedding the body fat and it will soon make more sense to track not only weight but actual body measurements as the inches melt off of our man Dave.

I believe we will be down the 50pounds he intends to be down in time for thanksgiving. Good goal and I support it. That is our next stop on Dave's journey... I as his trainer and friend can see this day clearly and we will toast our morning smoothies high and the Bodilogix will echo with laughter... of course all that will happen tomorrow too, just because it is Wednesday.

The "Dave" games not far behind...

Well the hammer sure came down on my new boyfriend as of late...
Although he did post another loss of a lone additional pound... Cobourg as a community apparently will have to step up and band together for the sake of the "No cop out" challenge... allow me to explain...

Seems Our man Dave's eating journal has had a few questionable entries as of late...

Note:
APB.(all points bulletin) If you see Mr. Cromlish indulging in any questionable fare... please call this Number immediately. Do not approach the subject he could be dangerous and this matter should be left to the professionals.
"This is not a Drill" I repeat "THis is not a Drill"

All I am saying people is that nowhere in any of our dietary strategist discussions have we ever decided "Nachos" were a good idea..."nuff said".

It's only a matter of time before we host the "CHALLENGE OF THE DUELLING DAVE'S"
I can hear the Movie trailer announcer already...

"ONE Belt of Victory"
"TWO Dave's"
"THREE events showcasing "POWER, PoWeR, power"...
"STRENGTH, StReNgTh, strength"...
"ENDURANCE. EnDuRaNcE, endurance"...

I'm thinking a competition for the ages... or in David H's case "aged"(...that ones for you Dave C)

The Events...
Laundry Bag drag From mens room to washer, (throw it in while your at it !!!)
Leg press Ball squeeze... Its something special...
2 k Tricycle race

Winner is drapped in glory(ice pack to be provided by Bodilogix)
Loser buys smoothies for a month....

It's another Wednesday night...

Wednesday night only means one thing around here at the Bodilogix these days... Well two things really. Bootcamp... and David's weigh-in first thing in the morning...

I think we are in the clear this week. I happened to notice David is missing a little "somethin somethin" in the back as of late. I feel pretty confident he is down but we will all know tomorrow morning.

For now, I'll just chew on my nails and hold my breath til 6:45am tomorrow when the "Daves" arrive...

The great Barrier has been cannonballed !!!!

Let me share with you ...
Wednesday nights have become my "night of nerves" as I know only hours stand between myself and the news Big Dave will deliver in mere hours... The Weigh-In ...
I felt certain we had another 3 pounds off this week but it is getting harder and harder for even me to tell as Dave's clothes are getting quite baggy now and what once revealed itself so easily now does not... There is guess work.

I know Dave's commitment to our strategy is sound and the rest is honestly time and tweaking however the mental component of weight loss on this level can not be overlooked. This can seem as easy or as difficult as one wants to make it...
We have been "inching" closer and closer to the 300 pound mark and I wanted so much to get him under that barrier. It was and is my wish for Dave that he never sees that number again staring up from the scales at him.

As of this morning August 20th less than 2 months in to the challenge he has met that goal...
Today Dave weighed in at 299 pounds...

Dave has succeeded in blasting through our first big hurdle and we are ready to focus on the next stepping stone goal.
We are gearing to have 50 pounds off in time for thanksgiving. That's 7 nail biting Wednesday nights... I know Dave is up to it, I hope I am...

Its a great day...

These are the Dave's I know...

Things have really picked up around here in the mornings as an earlier Blog posted by the big man himself can attest to. We certainly do have some rather colourful characters attending what has now become fondly known as "the Bodilogix Breakfast club."

Interesting to note the action daily of the "Duelling Dave's. " It has become an almost daily ritual as these two Dave's battle it out on the gym floor. I work with only one "Dave" at a time if I can help it... but low and behold it never seems to fail... the other Dave isn't far over my shoulder watching to see what the other Dave is doing. I can hear their thoughts.... "why don't I do that exercise....?", "How much is he lifting?..." and "Is he lifting more than what I am lifting...? " "that Bast--d !@!! " And soooo on....

...And the comments that shoot back between these two... You can truly feel the love people...One conversation awhile back Dave H teases Big Dave calling him "a youngin". Ever since then Poor Dave H has been label the Senior Citizen of the club... He is reminded daily.. ...Several times....

On the other hand unless Big Dave is almost up to a full jog on the treadmill Dave H is all over him like a fat kid on a smartie... "What are you strolling through the park over there Gommer".
Oh the humanity...
It all makes Jeffy D and his push-up phobias seem normal, and yes he was out in the parking lot doing push-ups in the rain again.

Special to note: I saw Jeffy wandering around looking for more towels in the cardio area with a towel around him and I mean up around his nipples... and nothing more...I have a few more questions about that but I digress.

In all seriousness, and that's getting pretty hard to fake around here with these jokers, it is nice to see such good feelings and positive energy of support for one another as each Dave follows their own path towards better health and energy and smaller fitting trousers. Note: Even Jeffy's push-ups seem to be paying off...

My mornings are never dull, and I love the comradary of our little secret "breakfast club". We've got quite a gang of characters indeed. Can't wait til tomorrow...

Oh that walking fool...

Well I dare say our man Dave is highly motivated these days.... I know he can see, smell and taste that sweet victory of getting his weight below that 300 and he is taking no prisoners. I promise I am doing my up most to keep him safe people but I swear to god I caught him trying some sort of one handed push-up maneuver followed by what can best be descrbed as a cartwheel thingy.
Not a pretty sight people.
No one was injured in the folly and we will be preparing a security harness in case anything were to go array.
I can't turn my back for a minute on this guy...

One thing is for sure, Dave sure has a lot of support around these parts as word of Thursday weigh-ins is definitely out. "How is he doing?", "How much did he lose this week?", "What's Dave at now...?". Every Thursday and Friday I see and hear the collective sigh of encouragement and relief as week after week the news is good from so many interested in Dave's Journey.

Dave, if you are reading this you really are having a powerful impact on so many people that have only seen you across a not so crowded (place shameless promotion here) incredibly clean, affordable fabulous gym floor here at Bodilogix...that BODILOGIX PEOPLE !!!!

Your fan club is growing all the time and everyone here is 100% on your side!!! We are all so proud of you.
Also if you could ease up on the cartwheels my friend start with a simple hand stand, sometimes you gotta walk before you run.
And yes your laundry is in the dryer... it will be ready for your afternoon Cardio...

In need of a new theme song ....

Here we are Thursday yet again and that only means one thing around here these days. Weigh-in day for Big Dave. Was I nervous for the big lug. Yes... and no.
Let me fill you in ...
We are back hitting the weights after our little back episode as you know and although I feel we are on schedule..."just". Big Dave was in for some additional cardio training on his treadmill last evening and the strangest thing happened...or didn't happen.

I didn't hear it... you know.... "The Song".
You all know the song...
The song is often heard when the A&W beer is sauntering somewhere nearby...
Come on, you all know the one...
Sing it with feeling people!!!

Ba bom ba bom, boom ba boom ba boom boom...da da da da...da da...da da da.
Well any way off goes our Dave yesterday afternoon across his beloved Bodilogix and...
Silence...
No song...
It's Gone....
The saunter has been replaced with a swift and efficient stride of purpose. As I watch in amazement at another pivital moment on Big Dave's journey I notice "Big Dave" ain't quite so "Big" anymore...
It is this moment as I see some really baggy gym clothes falling off Dave's incredible shrinking rear end that I considered the possibility of a very good Thursday weigh-in indeed. I was not disappointed...

Dave is down 30 pounds as of today. We are only 6 pounds from getting under the 300 pound mark. Won't be long folks... this dynamic duo is on fire !!!!

Committed, we probably should be...

And..... He's up !!!

Well so it was the first day of David's weight training program since our man Dave went down in a blaze of glory at the hands of a "frayed knot"on one of his cross trainers a week and a blink ago. It was a concern to be certain. Maybe the shoe was "cross" but "frayed Knot" (afraid not...) get it...

Gym humour

I have since suggested Velcro.... and a stick .....

Any hoo it was never the less a triumphant return to the weights as we pulled, rowed, and squatted our way to our next great weigh-in...and a new personal best on the pulldowns...

Love it, the last thing Dave says is ." Yo Sarge, when do I get to do my biceps, Oh ya... he's hooked !!!!
Patience my pretty... all in good time.... (Place diabolical laugh here)
He doesn't actually read this thing does he...

Picture this...

It's Saturday... I await my date with my boyfriend for 8:30A.M. right here at the Bodilogix. I can't wait to unleash the furry! I can't wait to put him through his paces... As a matter of fact I have dreamt up some even more "paces" to put him through... I am stoked and ready to go! "Bring on Big Dave"...

In bounds Dave like a little kid ...as excited as I am to "kick it up a notch". He's ready to get to work, I can see it in his eyes. No fear... only excitement... Dave is one of us... He is a "gym rat". Correction, we here at Bodilogix like to call ourselves "Logix-Bodies..."( The very clever Miss Tracey Llewellyn came up with that one)

Anyhow, I digress... Our man Dave disappears down the "hall of fellas" only to re-appear moments later (felt like 20 minutes apparently...) wearing his workout gear with an interesting gait that suggested he had perhaps accidentally sat on a pole... Cause that happens.

Stay with me people...

Yup...Our man Dave managed to put his back out changing his shoes. Poor Dave could hardly move let alone entertain the idea of putting in any sort of effort in the gym. Seems a horrific "tug of war" match from Dave's illustrious and colorful past is to blame for a re-occurring back spasm that leaves Dave pretty much a wet noodle for days on end.

As you all know by now injuries can and do occur and most certainly play havoc on the best of plans and of intentions. They are set backs and obstacles to get up, under, over, or around. The team of Dave and Andrea have already experienced a few but this one can be as problematic as any of the bumps encountered thus far if not more so.

My concern as Dave's trainer is that Dave not lose faith in his vision in his quest of "Project Dave". So far he hasn't wavered. He is recovering well and is back on his tootsies... We had our first sighting of Dave since he went down this past Saturday.
Today being Tuesday our man Dave did make an appearance at the Bodilogix. He went for a stroll on a treadmill I dare say for long enough to work up a formidable sweat at a sensible pace considering all things. Okay so I thought I saw a heard of turtles passing on the left but I didn't tell him.

Dave is still on pace to achieve his goal of 100 pounds lost /25 pound lost to date already and even more importantly Dave is coping brilliantly with all of the little issues as they pop-up and challenge his resolve with a great attitude. Dave is fully expecting there may be more of these moments where the body challenges us as we challenge Dave's body. I expect he will recover from this set back quicker than he ever has before any other time his back has pulled this little trick on him. I expect as well over time with appropriate strength training in place the frequency in which this injury "flares up" will become less and less til never heard from again...

I expect I will see him later on today for a Berry Blast Smoothie, and another adventure on a treadmill/ You can't keep this guy out of the gym...

Whewww.... and all is right with the world...

Well that was a real nailbiter people... I'd be lying if I didn't confess these early jumps in the numbers are really exciting. I also know in my mind I really want to see our boy Dave get under that 300 pound mark and say goodbye to it forever !!!!

I suspect with the progress we are making thus far I'd venture to say that goal is three weeks a way and thats all good. We are currently at 311.5lbs.

I have noticed our boy Dave has really begun to make himself right at home here at Bodilogix. Just the other day I had to tell him to put on his pants and get his feet off the coffee table...
(Not true)

Boys... strange creatures...
(true)

Anyhow, I am so pleased today with Dave and dare I say proud of his efforts and progress. Everyday he seems more and more comfortable with these new ideas we are introducing and is embracing the changes required like a glass of cold water on a hot, hot day.

Good on ya...
25 pounds down...
75 more to go....

"Bring it on...."

Nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs...

We are only hours away from "Big Dave's" official weigh-in. The last weigh-in of July and I can only imagine Dave's nerves are as jumpy as my own. Dave has been working ever so diligently on all fronts towards his weight loss goal and I know what a boost he will get if he has reached our next target of an additional 5 pounds off for our goal of 25 pounds lost...

My fingers are crossed for the big guy as I am certain yours are as well...

"Lookin Fly Big Guy..."

Well , As I write this I reflect fondly on a month of highs and Lows with my new boyfriend Dave (Mr. Delicate) Cromlish. I am myself feeling quite inspired by the change in his fitness level, and ease of movement for Dave that I myself have witnessed over these last four weeks.
It never fails to inspire me in my own convictions and life path as to the power of exercise.

Sorry guys, I gotta get "Heavy" on ya.. Gotta get this off my chest....

I have been asked numerous times over the past few weeks,,, "Aren't you worried about his health"... "isn't a man that big a real liability for you Andrea, are you sure you want to put yourself out like that"... "Isn't he a bit of a risky client to take on?" "maybe you shouldn't get involved Andrea..."

Heard them all guys... This makes me sad...

This man needs to get "healthy" point Blank !!!!
Is he going to be able to do this himself... Hasn't so far...
Could he get Medical help... Don't see the "Calvary" coming...

Options...

Yes, I will every time, I REPEAT... as I punch these keys hard... "I will every time do everything I can to teach anyone who is ready to hear the lesson how fantastic your god given biological machine is. It is the one and only one you will be dispensed... You need to know how the dam thing works and how to keep it in as best condition as you can...

This is the very definition of "Self Respect"...

Although our man Dave came to his turning point at 336lbs does that mean he should be left waving in the wind and to his fate because of the fear of Liability... medical or otherwise. Not by this conscience. Not by me. That is negligence.
Others may pay lip service and be done with such a man but I see more than 316lbs at this time. I see an interesting, educated man. I see a family man and a man with a tough job. I see a man with a big heart... I see a man that is more than worthy of our efforts.

June 22/2009
I saw a man heading down a bad road and well on his way. I saw a short road and one of discomfort, pain, disease and unhappiness.
My decision was made for me.

one month later

I see a road of physical recovery and reclamation of health and vitality. I see a man in charge of his own path. I see the very creation of "energy", vigor, and sincere smiles. I see relief, and positivity in this mans eyes where I once saw fear. I will take all slings and arrows for making this new friend.

When the folks I encounter place their fear "of what will happen to this man, won't all this exercise do him in?"I say Honey, in my humble opinion he was "done in" all ready...

Today, one month later Dave is well on his way to his own salvation. He is taking Control and taking good care of "Dave". I salute you Sir. Carry on...

Amen !!!!

Just another day in the "sexy woods"...

Another successful workout program executed with great brilliance by the team of Dave and Andrea this fine morning!
Nothing short of a thing of beauty as Dave "Chop, Chop, Chopped his way through the sexy forest". (That means crank out the junk in your trunk and display it proudly as you perform a rather taxing swing of a weighted cable providing the body with tension through rotation.) The woodchop is a great exercise to bring up core strength and "whittle away ones waist". I dare say we have got some whittling to do people!!!
Yes oh Yes...
Today was a great workout day. dare I say the best one yet!
Dave achieved personal bests on several of the moves we've been working on here at Bodilogix.

The Laundry toss... unbelievable !
The shower tile scrub... really something to see...
and the vacuum "Lunge"....Perfect !

Kidding, we actually got into some glute activation. That's glute activation not glue...There is no glue...
These very exciting yet challenging new glute moves help to further strengthen Dave's ass and give some "ASSistance" to his lower back and Knee structures. Seems we will be waiting a few weeks for the fancy dancy knee stabilizer brace we ordered so we might as well make him one from scratch.... out of his own muscle development.

Dave has added "Step-ups" to his program, Back pull-downs (closegrip), one arm cable rows, woodchop as described above, front shoulder raises, and of course a spirited crab walk to be envied by all, (all the cars driving down Ontario Street anyway...)

Yes indeed it is going well to say the least ... Dave is working hard for his morning Smoothie and what encourages this trainer is that no matter how many swear words Dave may utter or scream...or how many tears big juicy tears big Dave may squirt, Dave is doing great....

Ps. If you see Dave on the street hide your ice cream cone... I mean it... Put it behind your back or something...

Off to the races....

Great news, The Big man Cheated....

What I mean to say is did exactly what i so often tell people not to do... he did weigh-in again far sooner than he was due to weigh in again. I really do normally discourage that practice-(it can be dangerous to the mindset) but low and behold... another four pounds unaccounted for and we are not asking their where abouts. Good riddance we say, we are now down 19 pounds and we are indeed"off to the races".
David is now been through his weight training routine twice "in house" here at Bodilogix and we Incorporated some new moves already. We are "treading" and "tread milling" lightly as we are dealing with the anticipated owww... ouch.... "Hey there..." one would expect when one starts moving around like a butterfly in heat after a rather lengthy dormancy period.

David is "Tin Roof" rusty to be sure and we are really challenging his "Issues with his Tissues" with our "out of the gates" excitement. I must apologize I have been listening to a lot of Hip hop music can you tell....I feel so "Jiggy", That's "Jiggy... Not Jiggly...) Yo word to the mother... Who's mother..not too sure...

I am finding "Big Dave" as my son calls him to be reasonably "in tune" with his body and adjusting well to the changes on the fly we are having to deal with and I am most certain will continue to deal with as the weeks and months fly by or drag on depending on who you are talking to.

Rest assured people as we enter our 4th week together on the Dave and Andrea's excellent adventure...we are off to the races and we are winning this one...for good!

Troubled waters but our ship is sound...

Today was Daves' weigh-in day and ta da.... another 2 and 1/2 pounds gone for a total of 15 pound in 18 days...

Clap for the man People... I said CLAP !!!!! and with feeling!

His morning cardio treadmill work-out was nothing short of inspirational and for our man Dave "perspirational" as he hit the hill interval with the enthusiasm of a ten year old at christmas. He has even begun working some of the moves we are working on together into his own workout days...

We may have an issue looming however... we may have to speak to our man Dave about his 90 minute showers... That's alot of hot water!

Off to a respectable start "young grasshopper".

Great day at Butterball...I mean Buttersfield Park

As a Fitness Trainer I must confess I take great pride in watching my students excel...
I have been working with my "new boyfriend" Mr. Cromlish for a little over two weeks and it is so encouraging. In just that wee blink of time to see progress. Has he lost 100 pounds yet? No. What I am referring to is the difference from the first "stroll" around our route (which by the way between you and I was worrisome). No one should ever be that out of breath on a stroll like that...) to the last few strolls around our route.
The variety of exercises I have been able to throw at him over the last three workouts are blowing my socks off. All of you who are following his progress by way of the trainers blog I will tell you David is getting fitter each and everyday!!!

We are well on our way to a comprehensive basic body strengthen program sure to shape up our man Dave!!!

For those of you that hold interest let me give you a run down of the plan at present, keep in mind every day we train is different. David and I train 3 days a week. David does Cardio work the days in between our dates and takes Sundays off.
First...
We run for our lives from stray dogs in the neighbourhood. We do this for for about an hour... KIDDING...

1. We "enjoy" a brisk walk with a few stops along the way. No people, not to catch our breath, to perform "our moves".

2. David performs a total of 3 sets/ 20 repetions per set of push-ups on telephone poles and Park benches. This is one of our stops.

3. David performs 3 sets of Partial lunges, 20 reps per set, then one leg standing calf raises, and more push-ups, this is another one of our stops.

4. David has now been introduced to the "Sumo Squat" (I swear to god that is what the exercise is called...) I do however insist "No Man Diaper". 2 sets/ 20 reps

5. A walk literally "back" through the park... (we walk backwards with reasonable speed...twice), then today we "crabbed" across the park carefully displaying our posteriors to the public at large driving by. Hey, I gave him the option.. Big Dave said "Bring it on!!!". We did...

6. Finally, Superman Dave performed for the first time today an exercise called "the Plank". For those of you in the know... this is a very difficult "core" move for the general public... for Dave this is serious work... He did it twice !!!!
Our work-out is now roughly 55 minutes in duration and Dave doesn't stop... We keep his heart-rate up for that entire time with the workout listed in this blog. I am sure to "talk test" Dave through-out so as to know if we are working too hard or not hard enough...

As I said... Dave's workout is progressing nicely and I for one am excited to see where our workouts will take us...
Sure to be climbing a tree near you keep your eyes peeled for "Dave and Andrea's Excellent Adventures".

Another day, another set of push-ups...

Another Day, another exciting "Dave and Andrea's excellent adventure". Well right as rain Mr. Delicate and I hit the hills in our usual style... (with a limp)... KIdding, and all kidding aside our friend Dave is doing a great job. However there is "drama".
Due to a tragic "gardening accident" , while out weeding our man Dave has incurred what sounds like a strained ligament in his right knee and could potentially be an issue for us. Any injury can be of great issue when you are on an assertive quest like the one Dave is on and is coming from the physical shape Dave is in right at this moment.

Train with your Brain !!! Caution, safety rule the day...

No worries for this dynamic Duo. I have prescribed the "M.I.C.E" method of recovery. Oh you may have had the "R.I.C.E" drilled in your head, mine is a little different, all good for you to know.
You may recoznize...

Move around (use caution)

I know Daves Knees are screaming for relief. Sometimes I can hardly hear what Dave is saying because they are screaming so loud... Part of my strategy as Daves' trainer is to return Quad strength and balance along side strengthening up Dave's butt and Hamstrings. this will stabilize those tired overburdened knees and give them support and assistance in there next years of being " Dave's Knees"... add to that reducing the overall "load of Dave" those knees are responsible for and voila... Dave will Garden again. Dave may even Skydive... who knows!
Part of our program today was to begin this process.

He is a trooper and is probably sitting a bag of peas by this time of the day...
Its all good.

Down to business..

What a great day... What a great training day Dave and I had out in the beautiful outdoors. The sun was poking out of a cloud here and a cloud there. A cool breeze blowing across this hard working training super Duo out for a field trip workout. I think Dave was really "feelin" the vibe aswell, he was really full of energy and vigor today while we were focussing on our walking portion of the workout.
Come to think of it... Today was the fastest time and quickest pace we have laid down as of yet. For some reason Dave gets really excited in certain parts of the route I've picked out and gets a pretty good clip going... almost a jog really... Down Hills mostly...

Seriously, Dave is doing great... Attitude is so powerful and Dave has a good one we can all atest...
Today we added some new moves to his growing reportoire and assigned him homework or shall I say Dave asked for some homework...In addition to Dave's telephone push-out and partial stationary lunges we added a standing calf raise/one leg standing calf raises as well as the favourite abdominal move of this teainer... The BellyButton pull-in...

I think for a moment or two Dave suspected I had perhaps planted a papparazi or two on route as we learned some interesting new poses and positions to "wow" and thoroughly entertain the neighbors over on our current favourite route. No my friend, not yet but I do know a squat/split maneuver that is really only 100% effective when polka dot shorts and a pair of sling backs are involved... I swear it's true...

What a morning...
The last of the camera crews have just departed.
All of those reading this today tune into chex and global between 6:00pm and 7:00pm to see David and Andrea Lay out the big plan...

The missile has been launched alright... As I write this here at Mission control I almost half expect Barbera Walters herself to drop by and interview us. Is she coming, does anyone know?
... cause if she is I gotta whip up another batch of banana Joe Smoothies...

There will not be living soul that does not know what we are up to my friend... When you said go public you don't mess around...... no pressure... no, none whatso ever... 100 pounds... no big deal...Yup.
Cobourg look out, "Dave and Andrea's Most Excellent Adventure" is well underway.

A big thank you to all of our family and friends who came out to Bodilogix over the last two days to support Dave as he stands before camera after camera after camera to tell his story and make his intentions clear.
Thank you... Your support will make the difference.

Well Dave,

Canada day with the Deputy....

Well it took a little persuasion... and then a little more persuasion but "I got my man".
I thought seeing as we were out a training date due to the Holiday falling on a Wednesday it just made common sense that David should get a walk in and why not walk in a parade....

He didn't see it my way right off... and then he didn't see my way right off again
and then low and behold my e-mail chimed with the news... David wishes to walk with the Bodilogix crew on the big day of the Parade... We were elated !!!
He has been successfully "Bodilogixafied!!"

I was so excited for him to "break with tradition" and get into the here and now....
This is big !!! Walking with the gang... the Naked gang....
Watching my "new Boyfriend" walking confident in his shoes letting all of Cobourg know his ambitions for the coming year as he sheds 100 pounds was nothing short of one of the bravest things I have ever seen.

David Cromlish you are made of the "good stuff" and we are here for you...

I toast you with a my ice cold Berry Blast Smoothy (available here at the Bodilogix...ha ha)

The anticipation is mounting...

We are now just days away from announcing the most exciting event I think that this trainer has ever had the pleasure of participating in. Cobourg's very own Deputy Dave Cromlish will embark on the challenge of his life. Dave Cromlish hopes to take off 100 pounds of extra weight in a one year time frame and he has entrusted myself to assist him!

Am I up to the challenge... Is he?

When I first heard about this idea I was quite honestly skeptical...that's a good word. I have been in the personal training industry for 16 years and I love a good "success story" . Everyone loves a good before and after but who is kidding who... 100 POUNDS!!! that's alot of Pounds!!!!

I was asked the question... Is it possible.... well all things considered and favourably...Yes. Is it probable...Ummmm.

I agreed to meet this man. Mrs. Rhonda Cuningham of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation was my date to this appointment. I was very unsure of any of this but I prefer optimism when I can afford to. Off to the police station.
I sat across a very large desk and listened to a very large man tell me his story. I liked him right off... , I however am a tough customer I've been told and demanded an additional meeting, I need him alone, under my scrutiny...my jury was still out.

My visitor came to me mid afternoon and we spent the better part of an hour together. I will say to all of you as a public declaration.

"Not only do I feel Mr.David Cromlish will achieve his goal of 100 pound weightloss within the next year, it will be nothing short of an honour and a priviledge to be the trainer by his side to help facilitate his journey."
I will do everything in my power to make that happen for him. I AM IN !!!!!

I beieve in this man. I feel Dave is a man of great character, compassion and discipline. He has bravely put his name and that very character on the line risking humiliation to bring about some good for the community he loves.
By taking on the daunting goal of losing 100 pounds and to better all of our lives as he raises donations for the Northumberland Hospital Foundation.

Gutsy, you bet!!!~

I will tell you all donation can be made through www.nocopoutchallenge.ca
I feel as donations are made this will infact help keep Dave strong as he sets out on a journey of a million steps let alone push-ups and lunges...

I will be blogging our workouts, progress, and pictures for those of you who wish to follow along, you are all invited!
As Dave wishes to enrich our lives, along side Northumberland hills hospital Foundation with his pledges and donations he will also be enriching our lives as individuals. We have an opportunity to witness a man taking control, embracing healthy lifestyle changes and the drama and angst that goes along with this most difficult transformations.

Thank you David for allowing us to be a part of, and share this experience with you, we hope we can help keep you strong. I know it is all of us who will be all the better for it.

Summer is here and its not to hard to take...

Welcome to Trainer Andrea Blogs...

I figure I always have so much to say so... What the heck, I might as well say it out loud so everyone can hear what is happening here at Bodilogix.

Summer is here, well almost and I can't tell you how exciting it is to have the garage doors open and the patio all set up. Our fabulous Mr. David Long has furnished us with some outstanding potted plants for the patio and "ta da", it is certainly once again like no other gym in Cobourg let alone anywhere in and around Northumberland County !!

To be training in our in our facility I can't express the sensation of a cool breeze blowing in the gym along with the smells of summer. Absolutely invigerating...

Now this is training in style !!!!
